Mission and Vision
Mission
Our mission is to provide all of our students with opportunities to pursue academic and personal excellence in nurturing, international community environments.
These opportunities are provided by an outstanding staff of resource rich teachers, working in first-rate learning environments, on safe and secure campuses.
The SCIS-HIS experience is one shaped by the strength of our community, illustrated by faculty, staff, students and parents who work together to build on our strong traditions while committing to future excellence.
Vision
We aim to establish:
an international school with U.S. curricular underpinnings; an independent school approach and philosophy; a program which actively engages students, fosters academic vitality and excellence; allows for each student's personal and social development, and encourages achievement in the arts, athletics, and social service;
a program which ultimately leads to university entrance (including preparation of students for relevant external examination programs);
admissions criteria which limit enrollments of students to those with a reasonable expectation of being able to succeed in these programs and achieve our stated goals;
a qualified and committed teaching faculty comprised of teachers who care deeply about students and their achievement;
an administration which fosters student achievement, marshals and protects SCIS-HIS resources and insures ongoing self-assessment and improvement (e.g., the current PLC collaboration, accreditation work, and professional development projects); campus facilities conducive to the successful delivery of our programs located as much as possible in convenient proximity to our students' residences.
